Ny Connects Livingston County:
Caregivers, family and friends of Livingston County seniors, disabled children and adults can access local resources, programs, and support services for loved ones of any age. This service will provide information on medical and non-medical long term care options available in the community as well as in residential settings. A call center counselor is available 24 hours a day, 7 days week by calling tollfree at (888)-443-7520. Information and assistance is also available through our website www.NYConnectsLivingstonCounty.org

Information and Referral: Professional staff helps solve special problems of the elderly and their families on a person to person basis. Individuals may make an appointment by calling the Office for the Aging or visit staff at one of the Satellite Sites throughout the county.

Legal Services:
Legal counseling is available one day a week to older persons through a subcontract with an attorney. There is no fee for service. Volunteer contributions are welcome. Call the Livingston County Office for the Aging to schedule an appointment.

Health Insurance Information Counseling Assistance Program (HIICAP):
Trained counselors provide clients with information on various health insurance policies including Medicare and Medigap plans. This assistance enables clients to make more informed decisions on their personal health insurance needs.

Eldercare Locator Services:
The Elder Care Locator Service can put you in touch with state and local information throughout the United States that enables older persons to find help to remaining independent in their own homes. When you call the Eldercare Locator Service you will get information on how to locate a wide variety of community services. The Livingston County Office for the Aging will assist individuals in locating aging services throughout the United States or individuals may call the Eldercare Locator at 1-800-677-1116 Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Newsletter:
A quarterly publication published by the Livingston County Office for the Aging which provides important information of interest to senior citizens and their caregivers in the county. The newsletter is distributed at advertised pick-up points around the county.

Elderly Pharmaceutical Insurance Program (EPIC):
EPIC is New York State’s prescription plan for senior citizens sixty five or over and that meet certain income eligible requirements. Senior citizens that belong use their EPIC Cards to save on the high cost of prescription drugs. The Livingston County Office for the Aging will assist seniors with the application process. Senior citizens may call the New York State EPIC Senior Prescription Plan directly at 1-800-332-3742.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance:
Volunteers that have completed the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) training are available in February and March to assist those over and under sixty with the preparation of income tax returns. Call the Livingston County Office for the Aging for dates, times, and locations.

Voter Registration:
Clients using services provided by this office are offered the opportunity to register to vote with each application for service or assistance. Voter registration forms can be used to register to vote or to change your name, address or political party. Mail-in forms are also available for people who wish to complete the form at home. Completed forms are forwarded to the local Board of Elections on a weekly basis.
